Reading
Reading is one of my favorite skills to teach because there are so many fun activities that can be integrated within learning. I had students that ranged from kindergarten to fifth grade and started reading to Zoe when she was still in my womb. Zoe has a love for reading that started at a young age. I had heard so many adults encourage reading at a young age and Zoe is living proof that it can instill a passion for reading.
Within this page, you'll find activities for kids pre-k through fifth grade along with reading tips. I will continue to add resources as time goes on. I hope these resources are helpful to you and your little ones!

Reader's Theater
Reader's Theaters are a fun way to practice reading fluency. The readers are given scripts that can be read multiple times with expression. Repetition improves fluency. This activity uses idioms within the reading and has an activity sheet for children to complete that includes reading comprehension questions. You can access it HERE.

CVC Short e Game - Monster Mash
Consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words are the first type of words little ones learn to read. This game focuses on short e words (e.g., met, yes, etc.) and is played similar to the game, Go Fish. My most successful learning activities were ones with games. Who doesn't love a game? You can find this and other similar reading games HERE.
